Xana padded quietly into the new lands. Padders were carried high so the hot ground wouldnt scold them. Her amber orbs glanced around her, searching for others of her kind. She roared loudly, and it echoed through the empty terrain. There was no breeze, only the soaring temperatures of nothingness. she approached a wilting tree and lowered her bod to the cracked ground, trying to rest in some shade.

Dusty yellow eyes watched her enter. Bast's tail twitched back and forth, warding off offending insects. She panted heavily. The air was hot and it made Bast want to go to sleep. Still, she listened to the other roar. Bast did not respond, only watching.

she lifted her head to roar again, but it was quieter, weaker, than what it was the first time. her eyes close lazily, but her ears twitch at the scratchy sound of other animals desperate to find water...shade...anything

Bast crept out of hiding, her golden pelt seeming to shine in the rays of the sun. Her mouth hung open, tongue laying slack in her mouth. The air that escaped her mouth was dry and hot, just like the landscape around her. Her huge paws landed softly on the grass, making her approach almost silent. It was only the soft grunt she uttered that signaled her approach.

Koujie had been looking for a tree he could climb up and curl into. He was tired, thirsty, and hungry. Feeling like he would pass out any moment. But he knew he wouldnt. He never did. Shaking his mane with a loud yawn/roar he continued running. He came to a stop when he relized Alana wasnt beside him or behind him. Sighing he turned around and ran back the way he had come.

her ears turned to the direction of the roar and the grunt. she sensed that one was of distress but hadnt the energy to investigate. she wearily rose to her feet and padded from the wilted tree to greet the sources of the announcements.

Bast followed the exausted female with interest. It had been many days since she had come across another creature like herself. She heard the yawn of another, but the female was more interesting. Perhaps it was because Bast was a female herself, or maybe it was because the female was closer. Either way, Bast followed at a distance, watching her every move.

she greeted the lioness with a gentle growl. she padded away softly to the cliff edge, then turned to see her following at a distance. she didnt care, she just wanted to find some shelter from the hot sun, or some water as she was badly dehydrated.

The greeting from the lioness was short and Bast could tell she was exausted. Bast shook her head, biting at flys that flew around her face. They were such annoyances. An almost motherly urge took over Bast and she creeped closer to the female.
"You are tired." It was more of a statement than a question. Her eyes remained fixed on her. The sun beat down on her, causing her to pant heavier. Normally around this time, she would be asleep, but the female was far too interesting. Why, she still didn't know.

her amber eyes closed sleepily and she looked up at the other lioness, agreeing with her - she was tired. the other femme looked it as well, but she darent say it to her, as she had only just met her. she snarled to her, showing her friendship before looking away, desperately searching for something that would help them survive on these hot lands.

"There should be a small watering hole near here." Bast's eyes lifted to scan the area. All she saw was the heat rising from the grass. Whipping her tail at yet another insect, she growled to herself. She knew the water was around somewhere, but she had forgotten in which direction it lay. It would at least provide some relief from the hot sun.

Koujie turned, suddenly remembering that if he stopped looking for Alana he would find her, or she would just show up. So turning around again, he started running towards where he heard the lioness. Kicking up sand and dust as he ran, Koujie soon appeared in sight of the lionesses. He watched them with intrested eyes, as he sat on his rump. No shade anywhere. Not even any water. With a low growl, Koujie layed on his stomach, trying to stay low to the ground, where the cold sunk, maybe he could just ignore the heat and dehydration.

The fae turned to look at the lion who had appeared out of nowhere. she looked at the other lioness as well remembering her words about the water. she raised herself slowly, as it was too hot to run about. she looked to her and yawned quietly. *and do you know at all where it could be?*

"I used to know, but now I doubt myself." Bast's face took on a look of worry and concern. She licked her mouth and found her tongue to be dry. They both needed water. Bast ignored the male, not having time or patience to deal with him. Bast rather disliked males. They always seemed too pushy and self-centered.

She nodded thougtfully and gazed across the plains. the horizon seemed to waver slightly, but she knew it was just the heat as it rose in the distance. her mouth felt hot and raw, but there was nothing she or anyone else could do about it.

Mila padded near the other lions, observing them from afar. She looked down at the little rambonxious kitten at her side. She laughed a bit at her young son, whom was pretty much always hyper. She then walked over to them, "Who's terra is this?" she asked, calmly and with a very friendly voice, not wanting anybody to start fueding with her. She looked back at Kino.
Kino walked beside his mother, quite jumpy today. He looked up at Xana and then to the other cats around them. "Mom, I think it might be her terra," he said softly, his ears perked. Kino then looked back at his mother, soon moving from his former place to under his mother's two front paws. He laid down between them, trying to get comfortable.

Her orbs kindly regard the newcomers with ease. she did not know to whom the terra belonged to, but she guessed that the male named Koujie would soon claim it. she stayed silent as she watched the little cub's hyper movements, then looked up at his mum. she looked back at Bast before speaking to Mila. *i know nothing about the ruler of these lands, and forgive me if you take me as rude, but do you know of any sources of water from the way you have arrived?* her voice was low and rasping because of lack of water. she and the other lions desperately needed water so she was depending on Mila to have knowledge of where to find some.

Mila shook her head, "No not rude at all," she pasued, recollecting the mother and son's path wihich they had just taken to the group of lions. She nodded her head, "Yeah about five minutes that way, there's a big watering hole. And the water is fairly cold," she pointed her head towards a distant watering hole, which even she could barely see. She looked over towards the others and smiled, glad that she could be helpful.
Kino jumped up at the slighest movement of the grasshopper at his side. he leaped away from it and quickly bounded right into Koujie, he looked up at the male, "Sorry," he mewed softly. He then padded back over to Mila, and taking his former position once more, between her two front paws. He was still watching, well sort of admiring Koujie. He wished that he could be like him when he grew up.

Bast nodded her thanks, keeping a wary eye on the male. She glanced down at the little cub, cocking her head to one side. She had never had much socialization with little ones. Frankly she found him to be rather annoying, even if he hadn't said or done anything to her. Bast was a loner, having no pride. She wasn't used to so many creatures around her at once.

She growled her thanks to the newcomers, and slowly padded in the direction she had pointed out. she squinted her eyes, trying to block out some of the sun's bright light, but she couldnt. she lowered her head and made her way across the fiery lands. she could almost feel the heat rising from the ground under her paws. she felt tired and achy and hoped that the water wouldnt have evaporated by the time she got there.
